THAG Meets with French Ambassador to Advance Three Guianas Tourism Collaboration

On December 5, 2025, the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) Executive met with His Excellency Ambassador Olivier Plançon and representatives of the French Embassy at Herdmanston Lodge to advance discussions on strengthening cross-border tourism among Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

The engagement focused on unlocking the full potential of the Three Guianas as a unified, multi-country tourism experience. Key discussion areas included:

* Opportunities and challenges for packaging the Three Guianas as one destination

* Visa and documentation requirements

* Language and guide capacity across the territories

* Joint marketing efforts and integrated product development

The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to positioning the Three Guianas as a seamless, market-ready regional destination, strengthened by improved mobility, deeper collaboration, and a unified approach to international promotion.
